My Rising Sun

Here’s a song I’m working on. I don’t write a ton of love songs, but this is one of them. Recorded on an iPhone sitting on my desk, just using “voice memos” app.

I heard my demons calling
but I swore I wouldn't go
I was shivering and falling
into what I didn't know

after a scorching stretch of sand
You pick me up when I falter
You were my only helping hand

I could lift my gaze to heaven
and never see the sky
because now I've been blinded
by the sunlight in your eyes
